Individual Therapy (Adults)

Individual therapy helps adults make sense of stress, anxiety, depression, interpersonal relationships, insecurities, grief, loss, trauma, body image concerns, anger, life transitions and more. Sessions provide time to self-reflect, develop one’s authentic self, get support for what is happening now, mourn losses, and receive assistance in gaining confidence and a stronger feeling of inner well-being. A clinician works with you to understand repeated patterns, recognize their origins, and help you break free of them to achieve lasting happiness. This also includes turning to the therapeutic relationship for support to decrease symptoms and strengthen daily functioning. Examples include working on stress management and emotion regulation skills, conflict resolution, processing current and past traumas, and increasing productive interpersonal communication. Treatment is holistic, relationship based, and client focused. Therapy works to address your individual needs whether it be a steadier mood, learning healthier ways of coping, or striving for closer relationships. You can expect to be provided with a safe and positive space to express all parts of yourself and be met with warm understanding. If this sounds helpful, please reach out to schedule an appointment.

Child & Adolescent Therapy

Child and adolescent therapy can help address a wide variety of struggles such as angry outbursts, low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, separation issues, school and peer challenges, grief and loss, family and life changes, parent-child and sibling concerns, ADHD, sleep and eating disorders, and social hardships. Balanced care supports the child and adolescents' feelings as well as providing them with a space where they can feel unconditionally supported, comfortable to grow in confidence, and with a sense of agency. Trained therapists use age-appropriate developmental modalities such as play therapy to help children and adolescents express their emotions in a way that feels safe and authentic to them. In addition, our Team helps children and adolescents learn how to cope and process feelings in a healthy way. To support the family, we offer parent counseling to assist parents at home to better understand their children's needs, and apply direct and warm discipline approaches that help children in both the short and long-term.  We use “loving regulation” as the discipline approach from the book, Smart Love, developed by Martha Heineman Pieper, Ph.D., and William J. Pieper, M.D. We believe in collaborative care and will connect with schools, teachers, and medical providers when appropriate. Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team improves consistency across home and school. Please contact the office if you would like to discuss fit, availability, and next steps to schedule.

Couples Therapy

Couples therapy helps partners build a strong foundation, reduce conflict, rebuild connection, and enhance intimacy. Many pairs arrive feeling stuck in criticism, withdrawal, or the same argument. Sessions create a safe space to slow down, speak honestly, listen with intent, and increase understanding. Skills include learning how to turn toward one another, to communicate effectively, and to problem solve in a way that respects both people. Treatment focuses on strengthening trust, expressing grievances constructively, and creating shared meaning. Partners practice new ways of relating respectfully in each session, then apply them at home, review what worked, while getting support and feedback from the therapist throughout. Shared values, goals, and sense of purpose become clearer, so couples feel more connected. If you are considering couples' work, inquire about scheduling and options.

Parent Counseling & Family Therapy

Parent counseling and family therapy views the household as a system where one person’s struggle affects everyone. Common reasons to start include conflict, co-parenting stress, discipline and listening issues, grief, and major transitions. Sessions identify patterns that fuel friction and replace them with calmer communication. Roles and boundaries are clarified so each member knows what is expected. We use “loving regulation” as the discipline approach from the Smart Love book developed by Martha Heineman Pieper, Ph.D., and William J. Pieper, M.D.  This gradual process of change is two steps forward, one step back. Families observe changes between visits, such as routines for mornings, homework, or bedtime. Progress is reviewed together so successes are noticed and obstacles understood and adjusted.  Please get in touch to learn how parent counseling and family therapy could help your home life.

Perinatal & Women’s Health

Perinatal and women’s health services support a wide range of physical and mental health concerns that are unique to females. Various transition periods can cause mood and anxiety disorders.  Our therapists are able to assist and support you through pregnancy stress, the postpartum period, perimenopause, menopause, and other health care needs throughout the lifespan. It is common to experience identity shifts, hormone changes, reproductive health and gynecological conditions, pelvic floor issues, chronic pain, sleep and eating concerns, family stress, and body image concerns. This supportive environment blends care and empathy with evidence-informed practices to provide you with the tools and self-understanding to achieve stable inner happiness. When useful, therapists coordinate with OB/GYN physicians and pediatric providers and encourage collaborative care. The pace is gentle and understanding. You set the priorities and build an individualized support plan that feels best for you. Partners and family members are welcome to join sessions when appropriate to improve understanding and teamwork. Please feel free to reach out with questions or to schedule a consultation.

Sport Psychology & Performance (Fitness & Life)

Sport Psychology helps athletes, students, and professionals build mental skills that encourage results. Focus areas include obtaining a greater understanding of personal strengths, values, and potential. Through increased self-understanding, clients are empowered to connect with their own inner resources. The therapist will create an engaging and collaborative environment to encourage and facilitate self-discovery, explore challenges, and gain new insights. Focus areas include stress management techniques, injury recovery, mental blocks, loss and setbacks, executive functioning skills, and meaningful time-management skills. Clients will gain confidence in themselves to manage their feelings when under pressure, and to be able to outline the steps to meet their goals. The work in session is applicable to multiple areas of life including athletic training, class, work, and home. The aim is to prevent burnout and encourage self-caretaking. If you are ready to strengthen the mental side of performance, please contact us to book a session.
